Election 2 #croydonc

We're well into the campaign now and I am still waiting to be doorstepped. I live in a marginal seat so I was expecting to be canvassed loads. But no. Husb has received direct mails from the Labour and Tory candidate. (No one has written to me directly - I don't know why) We've had a leaflet through the door from Labour, the Greens and the Independent candidate. Today the postman delivered leaflets for UKIP and the BNP. I am quite scandalised by the fact the postman did this - I'm assuming these parties have paid the post office to deliver their leaflets - but I have to say I find it odd to receive political propaganda from the royal mail (I know it was him as I was in was and had to sign for a recorded delivery so he handed them directly to me).So this leaves me to wonder where the candidates are and what they are doing. I emailed all the candidates when the election was announced to ask them to sign the pledge to protect the BBC. The Labour candidate replied almost immediately saying he'd already signed and the Tory candidate replied the next day saying he supported the BBC but wouldn't sign the pledge. I had no response at all from the others. I'm really surprised and a tad disappointed. In the last week where Lib Dems have had such a surge I'd thought I'd get something from them - but nothing. Watching the the national news and keeping up to date on twitter and the internet the impression is of a really exciting election. But in Croydon Central nothing is happening. Even following the official twitter hashtag for the constituency (#croydonc) is fairly quiet - with just 1 tweet a day (on average in past week and 2 of them were me!) I'm a floating voter...i haven't voted for the same party in 2 general elections in a row... but it seems no one wants my vote. I'm voting by postal vote so unless they get to me in next week it'll be too late.
